What Is Resilience?

posted in: Mental Health 0

Resilience is the ability to bounce back from difficulties, adapt to change, and keep going even when life feels overwhelming. It doesn’t mean we’re never shaken or that we don’t feel pain — it means we rise, even if we do so with tears in our eyes. Many people believe that being resilient means being tough all the time, but true resilience involves vulnerability, faith, and inner strength. In 2 Corinthians 4:8–9, the Apostle Paul reminds us, “We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair…” Resilience allows us to endure trials and still stand tall. Whether it’s from personal struggles, loss, or daily stressors, resilience gives us the power to keep showing up and trusting God for what’s next.
